Tenor Gene Woolcott joined the BHS in 1981. He has been a member of the Elgin Chapter and the Chicagoland West Suburban Chapter (West Towns Chorus). While with the West Towns Chorus he helped them win three silver medals (1984, 1985 and 1986), and a gold medal in 1987. In 1986, singing with Lucky Day, his quartet won the Illinois District's Quartet Championship. After a short retirement from singing, in 2010 he returned to active membership with Elgin's Fox Valley Harmonizers, where he sings with the chapter chorus and the Mood Makers quartet.

As the youngest member of the Mood Makers, lead singer John Schultz is the most likely to have never before heard of the songs he's singing for you today. His incredible voice and talent along with his equally incredible ego has allowed him to work his way up to fourth banana in his current quartet. John has been singing barbershop for over a decade now and looks forward to one day being old enough to sing with other barbershoppers his age. (He's also very modest.)

Bass Dennis Toren has been a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society for 31 years and a member of the Elgin Chapter for the entire time. While singing in the chapter chorus for those 31years, he also found time to sing in three other quartets before Mood Makers -- Nickelodeon Sound, Diminished Capacity, and Grandfathers Clock. While with those quartets he earned the IL Novice Quartet Award in 1990, IL Sr. Quartet Jamboree Champs Award in 1999, and the Ed Wilson Service Award in 2002 and 2009. Dennis is the anchor for the Elgin Chapter where he has been Barbershopper of the year in 1988 and 2009, and was inducted into the Elgin Chapter Hall of Fame in 1993.

Baritone Carl Missele

has been a member of the BHS and a member of the Elgin Chapter for 55 years. He is currently the VP of Music and Performance for the chapter, and has served in nearly every office for the chapter and has been the annual show chairman multiple times. Before Mood Makers, Carl sang with many quartets over the years. He was with the Valley Four-gers for about 30 years, and in 1976 they won the Illinois District Quartet Championship. Carl is active in the Illinois District Quartet Champions Association (QCA) and was named theQCA Music Man in 2005. He also received Illinois District Award for Barbershop Excellence (ABE) in 2008
